Five days behind schedule, version 1.2 is out! What’s new?
Templates
That’s the major feature of this version: templates. You can now alter and override the way WPMovieLibrary displays things via plugins and themes by providing your own templates. That’s a really cool feature, as it will allow you to extend and customize your plugin without having to edit the core file. The WPMovieLibrary-LightBox plugin is a great example: it adds a LightBox effect to the images and posters by using its own templates for movie_poster and movie_images Shortcodes. We’ll soon update the doc on this part.
Cache
Still an experimental feature, but you can start testing it: the caching feature tries to reduce the impact of the plugin on database by storing temporarily recurring data and templates. You shouldn’t use this in production context though, as it may − with quite a paradox, actually − generate huge amounts of the entries to the database. You can learn more about this in the documentation.
Widgets reboot
Widgets have been completely reworked and simplified. You now have four powerful Widgets available: Movies, Details, Taxonomies and Statistics, with various yet unified options and settings. See the related documentation section for more details.
